A story from Once Upon A Packet
In the bright and busy Client City, lights flickered in every window and messages flew like tiny glowing stars across the sky. Deep inside one small device, something new was about to happen.
A tiny spark appeared. It shimmered, grew brighter, and began to take shape… until suddenly — POP! A small glowing traveler appeared.
Packet was born.
Packet blinked his big glowing eyes and looked around in wonder.
“Hello?” he whispered softly.
Everything felt new and confusing. Symbols shimmered faintly on his body, but he didn’t understand them yet. Before he could think any further, a voice echoed through the city.
“Video requested!”
The words spread across Client City like a ripple of light. Packet suddenly felt a gentle pull inside him, as if something had awakened.
“Requested…? Does that mean I have to go somewhere?” Packet asked nervously.
A glowing road opened before him, stretching far beyond the city. Other packets rushed past him confidently, as if they already knew their paths.
Packet hesitated, then slowly floated forward. The moment he touched the glowing road — WHOOSH!
He was swept into a fast-moving stream of packets. Lights flashed around him. Paths crossed and twisted in every direction.
“Whoa! This is too fast!” Packet shouted as he spun slightly out of control.
Suddenly, everything stopped.
Packet found himself at a huge crossroads filled with glowing paths. At the center stood a tall, calm figure — Router Robo.
“Stop! One at a time!” Router Robo commanded.
Packet drifted forward nervously.
“I… I’m lost,” Packet admitted.
Router Robo looked at him. “Destination?”
Packet shook slightly. “I don’t know…”
Router Robo paused, then nodded kindly. “Hmm… let’s see then.”
He moved closer and gently pointed at Packet’s glowing body.
“Sometimes, the path is already inside you. We just have to find it.”
Packet focused. The symbols on his body began to shift and rearrange. Slowly, they transformed into something clearer — numbers.
A glowing address.
“There it is!” Router Robo said. “That’s your destination.”
Packet’s eyes widened. “So I had it all along…”
Router Robo smiled. “Exactly. Now you’re ready.”
The lights changed, and a clear path opened ahead.
The road led to a massive gate made of shimmering light. A powerful guardian stepped forward — Firewallka.
“Halt,” she said firmly.
Packet froze mid-air.
“What do you carry?” she asked.
Packet looked inside himself again. This time, he felt something deeper — the message he carried.
“I carry only what was requested,” Packet said bravely.
A beam of light scanned him from top to bottom. Silence filled the air.
Then, slowly, the gate opened.
“You may pass,” Firewallka said.
Beyond the gate stood a magnificent city of glowing towers and flowing light. Packet floated forward in awe.
A calm and wise figure appeared — Serverius.
“Welcome, little traveler,” he said.
“I came because a video was requested,” Packet said.
Serverius nodded. “Then you shall carry it back.”
A stream of glowing data flowed into Packet. He felt stronger, fuller, complete.
Without hesitation, Packet turned back. This time, everything felt different.
The roads were no longer confusing. The paths made sense. He moved quickly and confidently, leaving a soft trail of light behind him.
Packet returned to where he had begun. The moment he arrived, the screen lit up.
The video began to play.
Warm light filled the room.
Packet hovered quietly for a moment… then smiled.
“Now I understand,” he said proudly.
